Recovery Timeline After FUE Hair Transplant and Stem Cell Support
Growth after an FUE hair transplant is slow on purpose. Follicles rest, shed, then cycle. Adding stem cell hair restoration does not turn that calendar into a week. This timeline is typical language, not a guarantee.
Month by month
- Weeks 1–2: scabs, redness, donor tightness.
- Weeks 3–8: shedding of transplanted shafts is common.
- Months 3–4: early new growth may appear as fine hair.
- Months 6–9: caliber and coverage usually improve.
- Months 12–18: most plans are judged here, not at week six.
Activity limits ease as the surface heals. Sun, helmets, and harsh products stay in the written plan. If something looks infected, call the clinic rather than posting a photo first. Background on hair-loss types that can still progress after surgery is on the AAD hair-loss types page.
How to use follow-up
Keep the photo angles the clinic used on day one. Compare only those angles. Bring questions about native hair, not only about grafts. Denver follow-up routes through the Denver hair transplant team at 6501 E Belleview Ave #110, Greenwood Village. Other cities are listed on locations.
If the mirror at month two looks empty, that is often the quiet middle of the cycle. The plan you approved on day one is still the plan unless the physician changes it.
